Mojo Monday #211

Here's my card for the Mojo Monday challenge this week. I love this sketch by Julee Tilman. It was one of the easiest cards for me to make in a very long time. The printed papers are from Anna Griffin and as soon as I saw this sketch, these papers popped into my mind. The soft sheer nylon ribbon suits these papers perfectly.

Here's the sketch:

More good stuff for tomorrow. See you then.

Mojo Monday #210

Happy Monday everyone! It's gloomy and rainy outside today so it's a perfect day to get lost in my crafts. For this weeks Mojo Monday challenge I've created this card. Using Prima's Printery Collection 6x6 paper pad, it allowed me to get a masculine feel on this birthday card. This paper has to be one of my all time favorites since it includes some ledger papers in the design. Being a bookkeeper for so many years and working with ledger pads, it feels like coming home. In addition to the Printery paper I also used a few scraps on hand for the red diamond mat (square turned) and the brown embossed strip in place of a piece of ribbon. The ruby red button is used with a burlap string across the top and the card base is kraft paper.

Here is the challenge sketch:

Would love to hear your comments on this one. Thanks for visiting!

Mojo Monday #209

First Monday in October, Wow. Where has this year gone to already? I'm starting this week off with the Mojo Monday Card Challenge #209. Here is my card.

I've been trying to play with mixing my pattern paper more in my crafting. Not sure if this one is one of my best mixes. Maybe you can let me know what you think. Most of the card is made with BasicGrey® Out of Print 6x6 paper pad. The rosette is made using Martha Stewarts scoreboard and scored at each 1/4". This small rosette seemed easier to make by hand instead of using my Tim Holtz rosette die.

The Mojo Monday sketch is shown below.

Enjoy your week!

Layered Tag

Hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend. Before it ends, here's a tag that I made yesterday while watching the live broadcast of Laura Denison on Ustream (of a clock). Love her ideas!

As I was trying to get to sleep Thursday night, I had this idea pop into my head. Yep, color scheme and all. Many of my life's problems are solved and ideas are found while trying to get to sleep at night. This is a great advantage sometimes and other times - oh how I wish for an off switch.

Up close view . . . .

Tag size is 6 1/4 x 3 1/8 inches (#8 size). The paper pad used was BoBunny et cetera Collection (love it). Embossed paper at top of tag is a specialty paper from Hobby Lobby I found earlier this year. Foam dots are used between the bottom scallop piece and the black paper above it for a more layered look. Thanks for visiting!
